Seated in the western highlands of Guatemala, Lake Atitlan is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Majestic cliffs and three volcanos surround the lake as do 10-12 Maya pueblos (small villages). Around the lake you can find authentic Maya cultures and the Mayan languages of Tzutuhil and Katchiqel are still spoken as the primary language by many.
